On April 10, 2008, our first child was born, a beautiful healthy boy weighing in at 8 pounds and 2 ounces. Within the first few weeks, I noticed him spitting-up heavily after each feed and spontaneously throughout the remainder of the day. For the next eight months, he continued to spit-up several times a day, which resulted in frequent outfit changes for parents and baby along with heaping mounds of laundry daily. At any given moment my son, husband, myself or whoever was holding him was covered in spit-up. The receiving blankets in our house, became make shift oversized burp cloths. We tried different feeding and burping techniques and even medication for acid reflex (which I was not thrilled about), but nothing worked. At that point, after exhausting all of the various “traditional” bibs and burp pad products that we could find, I knew that we needed a better, non-invasive and safe way to keep our baby, family and guests happy by keeping their clothes spit-up free!
